Pohutakawa in Flower - in Winter

Tui On Pohutakawa from Nga Manu
One of our Pohutakawa is in flower - in Winter - the tree is known as the New Zealand Christmas tree - for good reason as it puts on a glorious display around Christmas - we have one in all day sun that starts flowering in Mid Winter (now) and progressively flowers as the sun moves around through to Christmas - the Tuis love this tree. - The Tui seat sits in between this tree and a Bottle Brush and the Tuis fly in between. It is a magnificent spot as it looks out toward Kapiti - nice to read a book in Summer with an umbrella up and a cold drink.
