Gardens, Views and Sunsets
Vista del Sol has unrestricted 360 degree panoramic views and is 100 feet above sea level, 1 km from Peka Peka beach.
Nearly every room has wonderful views and you will find parts of the garden – all with easy access - that have lovely settings – The Tui Seat is a favorite on a fine day, it looks Southwest toward Kapiti Island and East into the Tararua Mountain range, it is named because the Tui’s flit back and forward feeding from the Pohutakawa and Bottlebrush Trees situated close by. In Spring the Cherry Blossom Seat attracts the native birds (and people) in the morning sun for its peaceful setting.
Vista del Sol – or “View of the Sun” experiences amazing sunsets and dawns, the country air is very clear and night time skys are wonderful to see. See the Sunset gallery for a small selection of our ever varying sunsets.
The Gardens at Vista del Sol are in continual development and have been planted for the seasons – Spring has the bulbs and tree blossom, summer has flowers, roses with later bulbs and Hibiscus, Winter has azalea, rhododendron, and camellia. See the Flower gallery for a selection of plants and flowers.
Bird life around Vista del Sol
