The host of 12 New Zealand Opens, Paraparaumu Beach Golf Course has long been regarded by many as the spiritual home of New Zealand Golf. 

Some of the biggest names in the sport have graced these fairways, from Gary Player and five-time Open Championship winner Peter Thompson through to Corey Pavin, Michael Campbell and in 2002 the worlds number 1 golfer, Tiger Woods.

Designed in 1949 by Alex Russell, whose design credits include the world-famous Royal Melbourne golf course, Paraparaumu Beach is considered one of the best links courses in the Southern Hemisphere. Modeled on some of the best links courses of Britain and Ireland, the challenging layout threads its way through magnificent linksland just north of Wellington, and once you’ve experienced it, you’ll understand just why golf played at Paraparaumu Beach Golf Course is golf at its purest.

Paraparaumu Beach Golf Course has a Pro shop and Restaurant that is open every day and a bar every day except Tuesday in Winter.

Waikanae Golf Club

Waikanae Golf Course is a beautiful 18 hole course that is enjoyable to play but still offers plenty of challenge for the keen golfer.  It has been the qualifying venue when the New Zealand Open has been played at Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club.

Has a Pro shop that is open every day and a bar and cafeteria that are open most days of the week.

The Waikanae 13th Hole is the the signature hole on the Waikanae Course.  Teeing from elevated tees for the men and lower level for the women.  Tee shots are required over the wetlands and stream. A wide fairway awaits a good tee shot. Then a straight forward shot will then avoid the bunker short and right of the green. The green slopes from south to north. Though a seemingly simple hole this hole is rightfully stroke hole 1 for men.

Otaki Golf Club

The Otaki Golf Course is a links type 18 hole course which is easy walking with only slightly undulating fairways and is known as 'The course for all seasons'.  It is set in a rural environment with tree lined fairways with no creeks or swamps to lose your ball in.  It is a relatively short course of 5477 meters, it can however be very testing with the sea breezes and narrow tree lined fairways.

Otaki Golf Course has caterers, Bar and golf equipment hire including electric carts.
